Merry Christmas

After a drought that lasted far longer than any skier would hope for, the best gift of all was delivered just in time for Christmas... Snow!

With more snow on the way, it seems the season has gotten back on track in a hurry.

Rider Jimmy Barrett and skier Jamie Cornwell are the faces gracing the Whistler Blackcomb homepage this Christmas Vacation!

Merry Christmas!

La Nina's Vacation

With the ski season kicking off with a bang and all the talk of the weather cycle known as La Nina, which has brought the below average temperatures/above average precipitation over the past year to the Coastal Range, it seems La Nina has taken a vacation in the last couple of weeks.

Clear sunny sky's, temperature inversions and melt/freeze are all contributing factors to the less than ideal conditions at the moment.  With 8cm being the most significant snow fall in the past two weeks, whispers of dust on crust have been heard around the village.

In search of fresh powder, ski touring over the Musical Bumps to Cowboy ridge has helped make the most of the fresh snow we have received!

Whistler Blackcomb Cover shot

With just under three meters of snow landed on the slopes thus far, the season is shaping up to be another one for the books.

Jimmy Barrett and myself, Jeff Boyce went out shooting again and landed another homepage shot on www.whistlerblackcomb.com, the official site of Canada's premier resort.

If you want shots of yourself similar to this, be sure to visit our services link on the top right of this page.

Lots more shredding to come, can't wait until the peak opens up!

Whistler Blackcomb Cover

Summer has come (barely) and gone and its that time of year to pull out the old boards and planks from your storage area , wax 'em up and hit up Whistler mountain for some early season powder.

Thankfully, our dear friend La Nina has decided to make an appearance again this winter and has dropped over two metres of mother natures sugar on the slopes so far, making for some great early season turns.

Stop Motion Photo was out there to capture these turns and owner/photographer Jeff Boyce has already logged his first www.whistlerblackcomb.com cover shot of the season with rider Jimmy Barrett.

With Blackcomb mountain set to open tomorrow, a fresh canvas awaits! Winter is here and we're set up for another good one!

Whistler Mayoral Candidate Ralph Forsyth

Ralph Forsyth envisions Whistler as a place "where young families can raise their children in a flourishing resort community, where residents have meaningful career opportunities and entrepreneurs share in the collective success of our resort."

As a council member for the past two terms, Ralph has heard the concerns of local citizens and believes that his leadership  would be responsive to the communities interests.

For a complete list of Ralph Forsyth's initiatives please visit http://www.ralphforsyth.com/?page_id=377

After spending a day with the candidate, it seems Forsyth is dedicated to meeting the majority's demands.

Ralph Forsyth is a father of two, a husband of one and a voice of many.

Rise Against Concert

Only those who took the Photo J program at Loyalist College will figure out what I mean when I say "G10 and be there!" Yes it takes a steady hand, and yes there were a whole lot of discarded shots but for a point and shoot camera it really delivers some banger images!

All of these images were shot from the outskirts of the mosh pit at the Rise Against show with Flogging Molly at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver.

Slippery When Wet

The Thanksgiving long weekend in the village of Whistler brings bad drivers, the annual turkey sale and gives die hard mountain bikers one last weekend to hit up the park.

I took this opportunity to pay back a favour and take some shots of my girlfriend and a couple other friends who were riding the bike park for the first time.

Though a cracked frame prematurely ended our shoot, a few nice images still came out of the day!

With so many talented athletes in this town, pristine terrain and the innovative photography skills of Jeff Boyce, every image says more than 1,000 words.  Here are a few of my favourite covers in the last two seasons.

Please visit our services page, located on the top right of this page to find out how to book your appointment that will turn those epic lines into memories that will last forever!

Sealed With a Kiss

Beginning as a news reporter, transformed to action sport photographer and now looking to be as versatile of a photographer as possible, I have entered the world of weddings.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Matt and Carly were left without a wedding photographer just days before their big day. A friend referred the couple to my services and after a brief consultation they were happy to take me on board.

With bright blue skies, a great looking couple and a pristine venue at The Brew Creek Centre, the photographs practically took themselves.

Whistler Blackcomb Shot of the Week

As the days become shorter, temperatures become cooler and the village becomes more desolate day by day, it is clear that fall is looming just around the corner.

To some, this means ski season is merely two months away, but to others it means that the best part of the biking season is right now.

Wildflowers are in bloom in the Whistler bike park!
